Welcome to the second week of distance learning.

There are a few reminders to make the process easier for you at home:

1) Please check your email daily and encourage KS2/3/4 to check their emails and Google Classroom as well.

2) Be in contact with your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. We want to make sure all students are connected and engaged daily in school.

3) Don’t pressure your children too much. This is a stressful time and we are all trying out best efforts to keep lessons ongoing and provide opportunities for your children daily.

Please try to maintain some positivity each day with some music, cooking, physical activity, some games and/or some reading. We look forward to seeing the students back very soon.

Patience and flexibility are the keywords these days! We have had to make adjustments to our schedules. Please remember that Thursday is a day off due to forecasted weather events. The Key Stage 1 Science Fair was a huge success this week thanks to all the teachers, co-teachers, art department, Ms. Rony and Ms. Mireille for all their support of providing an opportunity for our students to explore a specific question in science and follow steps to test and collect data. Next week we will have the Key Stage 2 science fair. These events will be in school only.

Our current school plan regarding the health and hygiene of the school was sent out to parents. This is a dynamic and ever-changing situation so please stay tuned for further updates. We appreciate your patience and support of the health protocols we have in place.

This week brings midterm exams. Please remember a good night’s sleep, proper breakfast will help students feel prepared.  Students will then enjoy a nice 4-day break and come back rested for the completion of Term 2.  WE look forward to seeing parents at parent conferences on March 3rd. Please keep a lookout for an email with further information. Again as always, an email with any questions or concerns about exams, holidays, parent meetings or any feedback you may have.

Hello Windrose Academy parents and welcome to the month of February. This is a month which will be full of events and lots of learning. FS  and KS1 will be working towards the 100th Day of School. KS2 is working towards their academic goals in all areas. KS3 and KS4 are focusing on learning and are planning for some trips as well. We are in the middle of flu season, so please be cautious about sending your child to school who is ill. Time at home will help a student heal and not spread any illnesses across the classroom.

Another fantastic week of learning and exploring last week! This week we have several wonderful events with some final friendly football matches on Sunday. Key Stage 2 will have their talent show on Thursday. There will also be a fantastic Year 3 Math day on Tuesday. Lots of fun and learning taking place. Be sure to read your child’s key stage newsletter for more details on the week.

Please remember to see the Updated tardy policy sent. We also have some families who have not updated their health information. A date will be set for this and if your child does not have updated health forms we will hold them out of class until it’s filled out. This is very important in case of any emergencies.

Welcome back to school

Jan 19,2020

January is now in full swing and lots of learning is taking place all over the school. Each stage has begun new topics to begin term 2. KS2 students are preparing for the January 30 Talent Show from 2-3 pm. We invite parents of the performers only due to space limitations. FS had a wonderful pajama themed day last Thursday with students reading and taking part in many activities indoor and outdoor.  We encourage parents to have their children to school by 8:00 am as the new lateness policy will now be in effect as of today Sunday, January 19, 2020. We also encourage parents to pick their children up promptly after school as there is no supervision after 3:20 pm. Windrose staff is involved in meetings and planning after this time.

Thank you for your support.
